Dear Choir Parents and Students,

Welcome to the new school year. We are excited to have you as part of our world class program, under the direction of Mary Ester Blakley. Please read below for important information that you will need to know:

Each singer is asked to contribute a donation of $75 to help defray the cost of music and transportation to and from festivals & concert rehearsals.

Any new incoming students will need attire for concerts. For Ladies, dresses (prices vary by choir) will be ordered at school through Martha Watson, 714-580-6878, or email her at Mwatson31@sbcglobal.net.  For the Men, a tuxedo will need to be purchased at Friar Tux in Orange. The store address is 120 North Tustin Avenue, and the phone number is 714-639-2410. Mention that you are with the VPHS Vocal Music program to receive the discounted rate of $125.

All students are asked to sell Ads or Personal Messages for the programs. The revenue from these help cover the cost of printing the beautiful, professional programs for our concerts. Ads & Personals must be turned in by October 1st in order to appear in the Fall program. Advertising packets can be found on our website for download. The first $40 in program ad sales will go towards the program costs, any amount over $40 raised will go directly towards the student’s account.

We will be asking all students to participate in our fall fundraiser, selling Christmas wreaths,centerpieces, and decorations. It is important that we have the support of each and every student for this fundraiser. The more we can raise in fundraising, the more opportunities our choirs will have for travel, competitions, festivals, and fun!

Please encourage family and friends to become GEMS supporters! This is a great way to support our music program, and GEMS get priority seating at our concerts!

We welcome all parents to participate in the Choir Booster Club meetings, which are held the second Monday of each month in the Choir Room at VPHS at 7:00 pm. An opportunity for travel has presented itself to the Villa Park Madrigals. Anyone in Madrigals who wants to avail themselves of this wonderful performance opportunity should contact the Booster Club. The details for travel will be forthcoming and you will be notified as soon as they are solidified.
